Andrew's our Overall 2019 Hartford Care Hero - 20 Dec 2019
Our annual Hartford Hero Awards recognise staff members who go above and beyond the call of duty. At the end of every year, our Board of Directors choose one staff member to be crowned “Overall Hartford Hero”.
For 2019, having considered a total of 92 nominations, this accolade has been awarded to Andrew Pow, Deputy Manager of Stokeleigh Care Home in Bristol.
Andrew is a Hartford Hero in every regard. It is not just his commitment to our core values of Care, Comfort and Companionship, he extends this to the families and loved ones of our residents.
He received a nomination from family members of a Stokeleigh resident, who recently passed away. Their nomination acknowledged the lovely relationship he had established with their mother. They said: “His care for our family was faultless. He ensured everyone was fed, watered and supported through a time when we were very distressed. His kindness helped us through a very difficult time and ensured our memories of our mother’s last few weeks were good.”
Commenting on his award, Sean Gavin, Hartford Care’s CEO said: “Andrew is a dedicated, hardworking professional who ensures the care of our residents is his number one priority but is always able to bring fun to his role, even on the most demanding of days. Congratulations Andrew. We are all very proud of you.”
